Anticipating electrical faults in the system or machine
Ensuring the continuous operation of electrical installations and the safety of people and property involves:
- Checking electrical connections and conductor tightness using micro-ohmmeters by measuring low resistance or continuity
- Anticipating the aging of electrical insulation by assessing its condition through voltage tests up to 10/15 kV using insulation testers—or megohmmeters
- Testing the installation’s grounding using ground testers according to the 2P, 3P, or 4P methods, as well as loop tests based on the network configuration
- Checking leakage currents using clamp meters
- Testing power transformers using a ratio meter
For electrical maintenance and periodic inspections, multifunction testers combine the main measurement functions: continuity, insulation, grounding, loop, DDR/RCD testing, polarity, and phase sequence. Dielectric strength testers and electrical safety testers round out the product line for testing machines, electrical panels, and portable equipment.
