Opening a live DC circuit causes a powerful and highly dangerous electric arc.
For economic reasons, the majority of systems used to disconnect or open the circuit in order to isolate the equipment are ‘live disconnectors’; this is the case, for example, with:
- MC-type connectors
- Most fuse boxes
- Opening devices requiring a tool to be activated
To open or operate these devices safely, you must first ensure that the circuit is de-energised.
A faulty, malfunctioning or incorrectly configured device may incorrectly display "0.00 A DC".
This is not the case with the F404T, which features a patented Autocheck.
