Firmly geared towards electrotechnics and the verification of rotating machinery, the CA 8220 is intended for companies' testing and maintenance teams. Equipped with a segmented liquid crystal display, compact and shock-resistant, its ergonomic human-machine interface makes it simple and pleasant to use because it is intuitive. The CA 8220 can be used to obtain a snapshot of the main characteristics of a single-phase or balanced three-phase network.
It also measures all the characteristics needed to check rotating machinery. It allows accurate measurements from a few millamperes to several kiloamperes, as required, by means of a wide range of sensors. Other features:
- Rotation speed: predictive maintenance requires regular verification of the rotation speed of rotating machinery. The CA 8220, an all-in-one instrument, fulfils this need simply and efficiently.
- Temperature: the motors and rotating machinery currently used are equipped with temperature probes which are easily accessible on a terminal block. This makes it possible to measure the motor's internal temperature directly by simply connecting the CA 8220 to this terminal block.
The CA 8220 is supplied with the PAT (Power Analyser Transfer) software for processing the measurements on a PC (display, analysis, etc). This software is available free of charge for download from our support website.

The PAT software allows you to control single-phase wattmeters and energy analysers, as well as clamp meters.
The PAT software is a tool that enables you to:
- Configure the devices,
- Download and view data stored in memory,
- Take instantaneous readings,
- Display data in tabular or graphical form,
- Export this measurement data to DataView (*.dvb files) or to a spreadsheet.
For the CA 8220/8230, CA 8332/32B/34/34B, CA 8335/8435 (embedded software versions v3.x) and F407/F607, use PAT. The main updates to PAT are:
- Various bug fixes.
The PAT 2 software enables you to control single-phase wattmeters and energy analysers, as well as clamp meters.
The PAT 2 software is a tool that enables you to:

If a previous version is already installed on the PC, you must uninstall it:
- Click ‘Start’, then ‘Control Panel’, then ‘Add or Remove Programmes’,
- In the ‘Currently installed programmes’ section, select the programme to be removed (of the type ‘CP2101 USB to UART Bridge Controller’), then click ‘Remove’,
- Click ‘Yes’ if a confirmation prompt appears.

The CA 8220 firmware can be updated by the user using the optical cable supplied with the device.
Please note: updating the firmware will erase all data (settings and photographs).
Back up any data you wish to keep to a PC using the dedicated software before updating the firmware.
